Court Appointed Special Advocates speak on behalf of foster children in and out of the courtroom, representing solely the child’s best interests. They move mountains so that each child progresses as quickly and effectively as possible through the foster care system and into a safe, permanent home.
Get involved
More than 400 children enter the foster care system in Josephine County each year due to abuse or neglect, and the number is on the rise. One in 50 children in our community now live in foster care.
Our mission
Our mission is to ensure that every child in foster care has a qualified, compassionate adult who will fight for his or her right to be safe, to be treated with dignity and respect, and to learn and grow in the security of a loving family.
Changing lives
CASAs are everyday people who are heroes in foster children’s lives. They give hope. They change lives. They hold a child’s hand on the journey to a safe and loving forever home.
We are a small but passionate organization whose mission is to advocate for every child whose experienced abuse and neglect and to ensure they have the opportunity to thrive. Our advocates fuel that mission and make it all possible. Currently, our team consists of Heather Brown, Program Director, and Dan Mata, Program Manager and Database Specialist. We both absolutely love our volunteers and the work we do.
